US halts $700 million in aid to Pakistan, demands action on Taliban bombs
Tue Dec 13, 2011
I don't know what the answer is, and I'm really doubtful that there truly is an "answer" to these problem countries. what seems painfully aparent to me is that our current foreign policy simply does not work. We have been trying to buy friendship with these places for far too long.
We are the median: Carefully budgeting for food, health care costs
Fri Dec 9, 2011
Try living on $20k. I do, family of 3. $50K would be like winning the lottery for us.
Sears reverses 'sneaky' up-sell policy
Fri Dec 2, 2011
Sears has no monopoly on this practice. Fast food resturants do it all the time. If you order a #whatever value meal they will always ask you somthing like "would like it medium or large?". If you tell them "no, small", thinking that small is priced as the menu board shows, you are wrong.
'US won't be happy': Taliban, Pakistan begin peace talks
Mon Nov 21, 2011
Did't they declare a ceasefire with the Taliban a year or so ago? And didn't they end up having to kick them back out militarily? I personally think we need to see about getting India and pakistan to finally go at it full scale.

Realistically, the only thing that keeps our society "civil" is fear of punishment. And even that isn't enough for some. I was whipped with a belt as a child when I did something I was told not to do. I was never physically injured beyond having some temporary red marks and a stinging rear end.

'Occupy' protesters find allies in ranks of the wealthy
Fri Oct 21, 2011
I am pretty low on the wealth totem pole, making less than 20k last year and probably a little less this year. And I do think there are some people making far more than their efforts or positions are worth.
School scrambles to retrieve X-rated prizes..
Wed Oct 19, 2011
We have GOT to stop buying this chinese garbage. None of it was any real quality designed into it, and a lot of it is just plain useless and possibly dangerous.
US missiles kill Haqqani 'coordinator' in Pakistan
Thu Oct 13, 2011
A comment by one person stating that if we keep killing the terrorists they will eventually become more tolerant and less violent, is the main flaw in the west's way of dealing with the middle east.
Unsettling wariness in Norway, where cops are rarely armed
Tue Jul 26, 2011
Ok, now everything makes sense. We have more violemce in the US because our police carry weapons. Maybe if we made them carry flowers and drive volkswagen beetles crime would cease.
